At the time the Diamond Theatre was opened, Pittsburg was known as Black Diamond, California. After having previously exhibited motion pictures in a livery stable in 1903, Solari with Enea established the Diamond Theatre (in an existing, rented building space?), it being Contra Costa County’s first theatre established exclusively for motion picture exhibition.
