The Majestic Theatre was established as a live performance venue. Extensive remodeling by Mark Greenbaum and Jack Greenbaum converted the threatre to motion picture exhibition in 1922.

The State Theatre was extensively damaged by a tornado that occurred on 28 June 1924. Demolition began on 30 June 1924. The new Broadway Building was constructed on the lot in 1925.
