The Majestic Theatre opened in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle in 1915, and is not to be confused with the Majestic Theatre that became the Palace Hippodrome in downtown Seattle.

In later years, the venue was known as the Roxy Theatre and in 1948 was renamed the Bay Theatre after an extensive remodel.

The original building was closed in July 1997 and was eventually demolished in 1999. At the time of its closing, the Majestic/Roxy/Bay had been the longest continually operating motion picture theatre west of the Mississippi River.

An entirely new multiscreen motion picture venue was built on the same lot and opened as the Majestic Bay Theatre in the early 2000s.
